ABOUT KATIE

Katie Shields is a recent graduate from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts for Film and Animation with a concentration in 3D Animation and a Minor in Game Design.

Following graduation, Katie is interning with the Disney College Program starting in August of 2022.

Outside of class, Katie worked as an Orientation Leader, in dining services as a student manager, and facilitated a class for first year students (RIT 365) at RIT.

In addition to drawing and animating, Katie enjoys bowling in her free time and even played on the RIT Women's Bowling Team, which had just recently returned in the 2019-20 season since 2007. She also represented her fellow ladies as the team's Women's Representative and Secretary on the Executive Board.

EXPERTISE

Katie is currently concentrating on 3D animation with knowledge in Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, the Adobe Creative Suite, and Houdini. In addition to her 3D animation and modeling classes, Katie has also taken numerous 2D drawing in animation courses. With an interest in working in the game industry, Katie has also completed a minor in Game Design, in which she learned JavaScript and the Unreal Engine.
