I was recruited by Alex Wisdom to work on his Capstone Film, "Bombshell."

On the film, I worked on character animation for various shots including but not limited to backward walk cycles and lip sync. I enjoyed working on this project as it had a more somber tone to the animation.

Meet Blip and Pip! These two janitorial robots were eager to work in the assembly line with the other worker bots until they learned to love themselves for their own purpose.

Animating these robots turned out to be a lot of fun as I had to figure out how to make them emote with their minimal facial movement and communicate without sound. They are really loveable characters and I enjoyed working with their unique rigs. A challenge I ran into with this piece was time because the film in its entirety was due in just a few short weeks when I was assigned these shots and they were also the big finale of the film.

"The Doctress" is an original character who lives within a world of magical creatures. She is meant to hold the feminine form of the more familiar plague doctors, but rather than having a long cloak to cover all of her limbs, she adorns a short-skirted cloak as she shows off that she in fact has no limbs to protect.

This stealth walk loops for game animation.

Model, Rig, and Animation in Maya. Textures in Substance Painter.

The apocalypse is now.

I really enjoyed compositing this piece as there are quite a few components. The zombie simulation was created placing a crowd sim on a basic pre-provided model, while they are zapped away into particle sims in Houdini. With the dog animated in Maya, I was able to composite laser beam eyes in After Effects with simple shapes. To seamlessly combine the two worlds, I animated a green light where the laser would be into the Houdini render.

Meet Lemon! Lemon is a sweets-loving shark who gets turned away from a mermaid's aquatic bakery.

I enjoyed animating this underwater animal as I was able to explore how his weight might shift as he swam away in sadness. I also enjoyed animating the weight of the sand dollar as it floats down to the ocean floor.

Lemon animation done in Maya, then rendered in Unreal.

Wanting to expand my knowledge in the world of 3D, one of the programs I ventured into was Houdini. After finishing this first procedural project working with nodes, I am really excited to continue doing work in the program.

This flag simulation and pole were modeled and simulated in Houdini and rendered with Arnold in Maya.

Spring 2022
Continuing in Houdini, I experimented with rigid body simulation, weight, and physical forces to have a small car get obliterated when crashing into a wall, only to then have the wall itself destroyed by a truck.

This rigid body simulation was rendered using Mantra in Houdini.

Using premade rigs, "Ray" and "Douglas," I animated a reimagined scene from Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger."

Every aspect of this animation was done in Maya.

April 2020
I was recruited by Davis Kerns to work on his Capstone Film, "CreatioNova."

On the film, I worked closely with Kerns on the appeal of his end credits sequence complete with a metallic, shimmering title card all created in Adobe After Effects.

Spring 2021
I was recruited by Davis Kerns to work on his Junior Film, "Warrior's Oath."

On the film, I crafted the credits sequence. Kerns had expressed that he wanted the words to be in flames, so I took to After Effects and did exactly that while also adding in my own touch with some floating sparks.

Fall 2019
I was recruited by Megan Combs to work on her partnered Capstone Film, "A Gallery Tale."

On the film, I worked out of my 3D bubble as I illustrated new cartoon-like renditions of famous paintings to be hung throughout the art gallery setting of the film. I also illustrated the 2D pieces of some paintings that the 3D characters interact with (ie painted side characters, leaves in a fruit basket). All illustrations were created in Photoshop.
