Logline: On a snowy evening drive in far off mountain roads, a teenage girl spots an animal, wolf or dog, in dire need of her help.
Synopsis: A teenage girl and her father take a dangerous and seemingly pointless trip down icy mountain roads, when they suddenly come face to face with a long-haired, four-legged animal standing in the middle of the road. The girl cannot shake the image of the animal’s innocent eyes and is determined to save him, even if her father and everyone else try to convince her to keep her distance from what looks to be a wild wolf.
Rationale: My mother has always been one to encourage acts of kindness in others and even teaches about it as a school psychologist. Being brought up taught these same morals, I felt this was a message worth making a film about.
As for the story of my Capstone project, I have decided on true events that occurred over this past winter break (December 2020) when my mother had an unusual encounter with a lone animal far off in mountain roads. I felt this unique, once in a lifetime story about persistence in helping an animal in the cold of the night, despite those who warned my mother not to, was a perfect example of how engaging in a random act of kindness does not need to reward any personal benefit.
