Characters Have Been Born

Drawing characters isn't exactly a strong suit of mine, so I sketched out an idea of what I want the characters to look like and included images of what I was thinking to get the idea across better.

For Lynn: Baggy knit hat, form-fitting long coat, skin-tight leggings, and high boots.

One thing I am unsure about is the use of fur on her hood and boots. I wanted her look to have a connection to the dog, but is including the fur a negative connection?

For Lynn's Father: Big and dark beard, black/navy vest over red flannel, jeans, and boots akin to Timberlands.

I am unsure about how to do his hair or if I want to just give him a baseball cap and how big I want his eyes to be.
